Since 1998, Bloomfield Township has been committed to providing a safe, walkable community and through the Jan Roncelli Safety Path Program, nearly 80 miles of safety path have been installed throughout the Township. This year, Bloomfield Township will be installing safety path on the south side of Quarton Road, from N Cranbrook Road to Chesterfield Avenue. Construction is currently scheduled to begin on Thursday, October 22, 2026.

OCG Companies, LLC is the contractor for this safety path project. The Township’s consulting engineering firm, Hubbell, Roth, & Clark, Inc. (HRC), will have an observer on-site daily throughout the project. In addition, inspectors from the Township will be on-site regularly.

Due to the constraints of the Road Commission for Oakland County’s traffic flagging requirements, Bloomfield Township, HRC, and the Contractor have determined that a closure of the south side of Quarton Road will be necessary during construction. This closure will be from N Cranbrook Road to Woodward Avenue. The road will be closed to westbound traffic for the duration of the project. Eastbound traffic will remain open and shifted to the north side of the road. Access to residences will be maintained at all times during construction.

Restoration of turf and other affected areas, as well as repairs to damaged irrigation systems will occur at the end of the project. Should you have any concerns or questions about the project, please notify the Bloomfield Township Engineering and Environmental Services Department, as listed herein:
