Our elections have been and are secure, accurate, and accessible. We follow state and federal laws and have developed procedures that have been thoroughly vetted. Importantly, elections ultimately depend upon the people doing the work.

I am happy to report that the Bloomfield Township Clerk’s Department is comprised of people who really care about their duty to the community and who will settle for nothing less than “election perfection.”

Further, we are supported by hundreds of community members who join us during the weeks leading up to Election Day to staff the precincts and handle numerous other tasks that make it a reality. Allow me to highlight the incredible team who each plays a cornerstone role for the overall function.

In addition to the elected clerk, the department is comprised of one deputy clerk and three clerk associates and one intern. Deana Mondock is the Deputy Clerk. Sean Mueller, Catarina Yankey, and Kelda London are the clerk associates. Each has prioritized professional development. Deana has earned the Michigan Professional Municipal Clerk II designation and the international designation of Certified Municipal Clerk. Sean, Catarina and Kelda have each earned their Michigan Professional Municipal Clerk certification. Hayley Bedell, the elections intern, is a senior at the University of Michigan.

Meet the Team

Each member of the team in the Clerk’s department plays a cornerstone role for the overall function.  Critical to the team’s excellence is their strong sense of duty to doing what's right and to providing excellent services to residents.

Deputy Clerk

Pursuant to state law, each clerk must appoint a deputy to assure that the critical functions of local government can operate seamlessly even when the clerk is absent.

Deana Mondock is the Deputy Clerk. A graduate of MSU, she worked in the private sector before joining the clerk's department in 2005. In 2013 she was appointed Deputy Clerk. Her technical expertise, combined with leadership and long-term institutional knowledge is critical to operating municipal government. Deana has earned both state and national professional certifications and has held every elected position leading the Oakland County Clerk's Association.

Clerk's Associates

Each has earned the Michigan Professional Municipal Clerk certification, a 3-year program.

Sean Mueller joined the department in August 2020 after graduating from Saginaw Valley State University. He is the person you are likely to talk with about many different permits and licenses and to request public records.  Sean supports elections by being responsible for the election equipment. When not at work, he is a statewide leader for the Optimist Club. Sean personifies Optimists' values: optimism, leadership, hope, support, and achievement.

Catarina Yankey joined us in 2022 after graduating from U of M. She studied political science and was active in student government. Catarina is the person who is responsible for marshaling the resources necessary to run elections. She recruits community members, conducts training, assigns the workers, and provides leadership on Election Day. In the Township, elections and Catarina are synonymous, reflecting her passion for the democratic process which began in high school when she first worked in a precinct on Election Day. Catarina was recently elected Secretary for the Oakland County Clerk's Association.

Kelda London joined the department earlier this year and rounds out the team with extensive municipal experience. She has been the Deputy Clerk in Southfield, the Clerk in Lathrup Village and worked a couple of decades in the Village of Franklin. She has a wealth of experiences and knowledge that reinforces our commitment to free and fair elections and excellent customer services. What's special about Kelda is that she also runs marathons - anyone who can do that can achieve anything they put their mind to!

Elections Intern

Hayley Bedell is the Elections Intern. She graduated from Groves High School and is a senior at the University of Michigan. Hayley has her sights on law school, but we know that she will be a big success in any path she chooses.

But what about the rest of Michigan? From my observations during elections, at conferences and training
events over the past 6 years, I have witnessed and worked with many talented professionals similarly dedicated to helping their respective communities express their will through the ballot box. Also, municipal clerks support each other through professional associations. There are the Oakland County Clerks Association and the Michigan Association of Municipal Clerks. We frequently gather for education, state-wide updates, and to share best practices.

Thank you to all the hardworking and dedicated people throughout the municipalities of this state who make sure our elections are secure, accurate, and accessible.
