Bloomfield Township Administration wants residents to know they are fully aware of the many frustrations with the current status of trash, recycling, and yard waste pick up across the Township. Complaints of missed or late pick ups and left over litter or debris such as broken glass are becoming more common. We encourage residents to continue notifying the Department of Public Works and Priority Waste of issues they experience.
Priority Waste Portal Customer Portal for Bloomfield Township
Leadership from the Department of Public Works has been meeting with Priority Waste to address these ongoing issues. They are actively monitoring services and assessing penalties according to contract language including applying liquidated damages. Public Works will continue to clean up litter leftover after pick up and bill the contractor for the service.
Many residents have read news updates about actions taken by other communities across southeast Michigan such as changing vendors or withholding payment. Please know that Bloomfield Township is exploring every option to continue providing first-class service to its residents including waste removal.
