Celebrate 40 years of Bloomfield Community Television! Staff (past and present), community producers, and the public are welcome to attend this Open House. Event starts at 4pm and orientation will take place at 6pm for those interested in becoming a community producer.

Each September BCTV hosts a day of free digital literacy workshops, presented by BCTV staff and special guests. Watch our sessions on-demand here.
Sports Broadcasting Camp
In August of 2025, BCTV hosted it's first Sports Broadcasting Camp for local teens interesting in a career in broadcasting.
Community Media Day Awards and Proclamation
October 28th, 2024
Director of Cable and Community Relations, Carrie LeZotte, participated in a Board of Trustees Meeting to seek a proclamation that allowed the Township to recognize October 20 as Community Media Day.
The approved proclamation was followed by a ceremony, with outstanding community partners and producers being bestowed the inaugural Heart of the Community Awards:
- Dr. Niru Prasad - Community Producer of the Year
- Bloomfield Township Public Library - Community Partner of the Year
- Maggie Barclay - Employee Partner of the Year
- Steve Rota - Honoree for 25+ Years of Service
BCTV Performance Stage and Art Exhibit at The Bloomfield Township Open House
During the annual Township Open House, BCTV hosts a performance stage, featuring diverse talents from local artists throughout the event. In addition, the BCTV main studio becomes home to an art exhibit, courtesy of the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center.
Documentary Youth Workshop
BCTV hosted its first Documentary Youth Workshop this past June. This workshop ran in conjuncture with the Township Police Department's Regional Youth Academy (RYA), and was geared for students ages 14-18. Young filmmakers told the stories of RYA cadets with guidance from BCTV Staff. Participants learned interview techniques, pre-production strategies, hands-on camera training, and editing. The final short video created by the students (shown below) was shown at the RYA Graduation Ceremony.
